WHY SHOULD A FILIPINO FAMILY HIRE AN AMERICAN IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY?

American immigration law is highly confusing and there are daily changes. Attorney Danielle Nelisse reads updates every day concerning the ever changing requirements by the U.S. Government.

We work on immigration cases for a wide range of individuals from the Philippines every day. We understand what you are going through and work hard to help you through it. ATTORNEY DANIELLE NELISSE

I-751 REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS OFF 2 YEAR GREEN CARD

A new marriage is hard enough, no matter what age you are. Add Philippine and American cultural differences and children from previous marriages and although rewarding, the relationship takes work. In addition, if you were granted a 2 year green card because you were married less than two years at the time of your green card interview, you must file an I-751 Petition before your two year card expires. Many couples do not read the I-751 instructions and fail to submit "proof of marriage" documents along with their I-751 Petition and are required to go to a second green card interview to prove that their marriage is valid or "bona fide." Hire an American immigration attorney and avoid these common mistakes. FOR MORE INFORMATION IN ENGLISH, CLICK HERE

CITIZENSHIP PROCESSING

After being in Lawful Permanent Resident (green card) status for five years, Philippine nationals are eligible to apply for American citizenship. The waiting period is only three years if a Philippine national obtained their green card through marriage to a U.S. citizen.

Much of the American citizenship (also called naturalization) process is document intensive and involves the careful exchange of immigration information between the client and attorney. After years of experience, we have developed a system that optimizes our immigration legal expertise and provides our Philippine clients with an unmatched personalized experience, customized to their needs. H-1B WORK VISA FOR FILIPINA NURSES AND COLLEGE GRADUATES

Getting an H-1B work visa approved for a nursing position for a Philippine job applicant is tricky. Regrettably, the majority of nursing positions in America still do not required a 4 year Bachelor Degree and therefore those positions do not qualify for an H-1B work visa.

FILIPINA NURSE WORKING IN AMERICAFor example, a general RN (Registered Nurse) does not qualify for an H-1B visa because generally the minimum requirement for a nursing job is only a 2 year degree in Nursing and H-1B visas are only for workers with 4 year degrees.

However, some Philippine nurses may qualify for an H-1B work visa if they have a 4 year degree and specialized training or will be in a supervisory position. Because every nursing position is different, and every foreign applicant is different, it is best to get the legal advice of an immigration attorney before spending the money to apply for the H-1B visa.

Obtaining an H-1B visa for other 4 year Philippine college graduates is much easier. However, the college graduate must first get an American employer to agree to hire them and sign the H-1B visa application.
